Pani puri is everyone's favorite anytime street food or chat and so yummy with potato, boiled chana filling in it with spicy and tangy water. Pani puri is also known as 'Golgappas' or 'Poochkas'. Today here is the recipe for chatpata masala for filing and spicy chilled coriander leaves and mint water.
Ingredients :
Masala filing :
- 4 medium potato boiled and peeled
- 3 cup black chana boiled
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp sanchal powder (black salt)
- 1+1/2 tsp pani puri masala
Spicy Pani :
- 2 cup cilantro (Coriander leaves)
- 2 cup mint leaves (Phudina)
- 2 green chili or more (as spicy you want)
- 5-6 cup water
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1+1/2 tsp sanchal powder (black salt)
- salt to taste
- 2 tsp pani puri masala
- 1+1/2 tsp lemon juice
Steps :
For Masala :
- Mash potatos with potato masher littel bit so there would be small chunk of potatos. Now add chana in it and mash it again or you can also mash it with hand as well.
- Now add salt. red chili powder, sanchal and pani puri masala in it. You can use any store brand pani puri masala. I have used Everest pani puri masala.
- Mix everything very well and its ready to serve with pani puri.
For Pani :
- Wash cilantro, mint leaves and green chili with water.
- Now put it in blender with little water and make a very smooth, fine puree.
- In big bowl. add puree and 5-6 cup chilled water in it. stir it very well.
- In this pani, add cumin powder, sanchal, salt, pani puri masala and lemon juice. Stir it for 2 mins so all spices dissolve in it very well.
- Now its ready to serve with pani puri.
